Here’s some stories of interest for folks in the Upper Midwest.

Sherburne County, Minnesota, is not exactly a bastion of forward thinking.  It sits smack in the middle of the 6th CD — Michelle Bachmann territory.  So it caught this writer slightly off guard when the county board said it was considering that all new solar panel arrays must include pollinator friendly landscaping.  Good on you Sherburne County!

An Iowa district court judge ruled that parts of a 2017 law requiring a voter i.d. were unconstitutional.  It was a mixed ruling that is still being digested by those on both side of the debate.

As I noted in a comment in today’s Abbreviated Pundit Roundup, the Fargo (North Dakota) Forum writer, Rob Port, is being chastised for his juvenile tirade against climate activist Greta Thunberg.  Readers are not having it, but Port remains unrepentant, as he always is.

A group of truck drivers plans a “slow roll” protest around Sioux Falls, South Dakota tomorrow (Thursday).  The purpose is to call attention to safety and regulatory issues facing the industry.

The Capital Times of Madison, Wisconsin, finds itself in very rare agreement with House Assembly Speaker, Robin Voss (“the stopped clock of Wisconsin politics”) to note that Governor Tony Evers should change the date of the special election to replace Rep. Sean Duffy (WI-07).
